DBT Skills Group

$1100 for the 12-weeks

DBT Skills groups and support groups are designed for people with borderline personality disorder and/or those who struggle with emotional regulation and their family and friends. Here you will learn the skills of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.  DBT Skills Groups are closed groups that run throughout the year up to a maximum of 10 participants. Groups are virtual and are open to residents of AB, ON, and NS. The next group will start 10 Sep 2024.

Family and friends support groups are geared towards providing education to those who want to better support someone struggling with emotional dysregulation.  These sessions offer an educational component with a focus on skill building, as well as a place of emotional and peer support for members.

Single Session Workshops

$75 for 60-min $100 for 90-min

Soon I will be offering single session information sessions on specific topics related to mental health, such as boundaries, communication, goal setting, perfectionism, self-compassion, self-esteem, and perfectionism.

These sessions will be workshops that have a teaching focus and are designed to provide the participant with information on the identified topic. These are different than a therapy session, as less time is spent on processing problems; rather, the focus is on skill-building.

Eventually, these will be pre-recorded workshops that can be purchased through my site and viewed at your own pace. Prices can be reduced for booking more than one person for the same session.

Payment Methods

Payment is due in full at the time of your session. I accept payments in most forms including cash, credit card or electronic funds transfer.

A 48-hour notice is required to cancel your session, or you will be charged a $50 late cancellation fee.

 Sliding Scale

I don't believe that a person's income should determine whether or not they get access to mental health support. In a commitment to maintaining an equitable practice, I offer a limited number of spots on a sliding-scale basis for those clients who may not be otherwise able to afford private counselling.

Insurance

Sessions are not covered by public healthcare, however, counselling provided by Registered Social Workers are often supported by extended health care plans.
