Hello, I’m Audra

With over a decade of experience in clinical social work and mental health counseling, I’m dedicated to providing holistic, compassionate care. Since 2013, I’ve worked across various mental health settings, which has shaped my understanding of the personal and environmental factors that impact each person’s challenges, resilience, and path to healing.

My focus is on supporting adults and adolescents as they navigate concerns like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, borderline personality disorder, stress, life transitions, relationship issues, grief, and developing effective coping strategies.

My Approach

My practice reflects who I am—my personality, values, and the strategies I believe in for mental wellness. I guide clients using cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral approaches, balancing evidence-based techniques with practices I personally use to support my own mental health. Working collaboratively, we start by exploring the issues that brought you to therapy and then establish clear, achievable treatment goals. I am a solution-oriented therapist, meaning I’ll help you gain practical skills and new ways of thinking to manage life’s challenges.

Professional Background

I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Calgary and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers and licensed for electronic practice in Ontario and Nova Scotia. My experience in both provincial healthcare and private practice has deepened my commitment to seeing each client’s journey holistically, considering all facets of their life in treatment planning.

Outside the Office

Beyond counseling, I cherish time with my husband and three sons, and I’m a lover of creativity and exploration. Writing poetry, expanding my garden, and diving into science, history documentaries, and true crime podcasts are just a few of my passions. I believe in finding joy in the little moments and constantly seeking growth, both personally and professionally.

Areas of Specialization

I specialize in helping adults overcome various mental health challenges. My therapeutic foundation is built on evidence-based psychotherapy, strengths-focused methods, and narrative influences. For trauma work, I offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which provides rapid results without requiring verbal recounts of trauma.
